THE KESWICK REMINDER, April
13 2001
Cumbriabackinbusiness.com
A new Web site has been launched to help
businesses and tourism in Cumbria during the foot and mouth outbreak,
and also to raise money for the Fighting Fund set up by Cumbria Tourist
Board.
Cumbriabackinbusiness.com,
the brainchild of Geoff Todd who owns Highfield House Hotel at Hawkshead,
has been sup up to inform people that Cumbria has never been ‘out of business’,
although it was portrayed as being so by much of the media.
The site, backed by Paul Johnson of The Dedicated
Partnership, a Web site company in Kendal which specialises in tourism
promotion, was launched by Tim Collins MP and looks set to be a huge success,
having raised more than £500 for the CTB’s Fighting Fund even prior to
launch, and by helping to put Cumbria back on the tourist map.
