Furness bumper guide to days out
The latest information on days out in Furness
is listed in the 1994 edition of Top Visitor Attractions on the Furness
and Cartmel Peninsulas.
The tourism booklet has almost doubled in
size since its first edition last year.
And it was so successful, the print run is
now five times larger.
Furness
and Cartmel Tourism boss Tim Rogers said: "We increased the number
printed from 200,000 last year to one million this year.
"Last year, the leaflets disappeared far
quicker than expected, so this year we stepped up the number."
"We have 22 attractions listed, ten more
than last year. The leaflet is going all over the country, including key
tourist information centres across Britain. "In Cumbria alone, we have
one
person going round every day to replace the leaflets in shops, tourist
centres and even laundrettes.
"This leaflet played a very important role
in tempting visitors to the attractions in our area last year, and we
know it will do the same again."
Included in the brochure are the Barrow Dock
Museum which opens at the end of April, Stott Park Bobbin Mill and Heron
Glass.
